Transportation

The choice of how our guests move between destinations is entirely flexible, depending on conditions prevailing at the time and the guest’s preference. It may be by road in customized Safari vehicles designed especially for comfort, or by air in aircraft, ranging from corporate style modern jets, Cessna or Beechcraft aircraft, or by state of the art Helicopter, flown by seasoned bush pilots experienced in this type of flying and used to landing at out of the way bush strips. There is often a delicate balance that needs to be embraced between being able to see, enjoy and to get a feel of the country by road, and maximizing one’s time in the field by reducing travelling time, with cost being another consideration. However, whatever the choice, you will be in extremely safe and in reliable hands.

Our customized vehicles, equipped with radio communication, each have modified suspension designed for maximum comfort with good leg room, all are equipped with roof hatches for game viewing and in addition, refrigerated drinks and snacks for the road.

There are special canvas pocket holders for binoculars and field guide books and bean bags for photographic enthusiasts to steady a camera. Your Professional Guide is your driver with a seasoned spotter seated on the roof when in the field, who seldom misses a thing.

The VHF radio in each vehicle has a range of up to 15 miles enabling your guide to keep in touch with other vehicles carrying members of your group as well as the camp. Our radio frequency allows us to get the best and most recent information on game movements, weather conditions and events of interest both within the area and also the outside world. In addition, the lead Guide carries a satellite phone with him at all times to keep in touch with the outside world, or for calling in the Flying Doctor Service air ambulance should the need arise.
